" Sometimes appearances can be deceiving, especially in the entertainment industry. But once in a blue moon, you come across the real thing. Tabatha and Southern Fryd are the real thing. When Tabatha Rowland is on stage, she doesn't perform - she does what she loves in the most genuine way possible - by being herself."

Tabatha & Southern Fryd
Hank It Up
Tabatha Rowland is a lot of things: wife, mother, sister, daughter and one of the hottest new country artists to come along in quite a while. What she‘s not is even better. No sweet little country girl here—just raw, gritty songs about love, hard work, family and dreams. Tabatha and her band, Southern Fryd, take you on a trip from America’s Main Street to your own back porch, hitting every dirt road along the way. Her latest release, Avoid Heat and Flame,...

Tabatha Rediscovered
"I am a country song" by Adam Schull ashull@paducahsun.com
There's Tabatha the country rocker.
With coal black hair flying, and sometimes shoeless, she belts her twangy country tunes over the romping backing band Southern Fryd.
She leads the band into weekend gigs at Paducah haunts like Jeremiah's and Fat Moe's on Braodway.
And there's Tabatha Rowland, a 37-year-old mother maintaining a house full of five children and husband Jeff in Lyon County.
She works as an as...

On their debut full-length “Avoid Heat and Flame,” Tabatha and Southern Fry’d prove that you can take more traditional based influences like Mary Chapin Carpenter and The Judds and mix them perfectly with enough of a modern country sound so that mainstream radio takes notice. This is evident the minute you hit play and the opening notes of the rocking country song “Stubborn” begin. Tabatha’s vocals are a perfect fit for this tongue and cheek, modern styled song that shows exactly what it mean...

Tabatha & Southern Fry’d - Avoid Heat & Flame
By: Brianna Nightingale, CSO Staff Journalist
7/15/08
One thing I love about the internet is that you can find independent artists from around the world that you would never have a chance of hearing on the radio. Many of them are so good you want to turn the radio off and turn MySpace on.
The name, the sound and the attitude of Tabatha & Southern Fry’d is as southern as biscuits and gravy. There are no pretensions and no trying to be somethi...
